Nori is an edible seaweed that is rich in iodine, Vit A and C as well as Vit B12 which is essential for those following a vegan diet. Iodine is inportant to include in your diet to keep your thyroid healthy as without sufficient levels of iodine, your thyroid function can become impaired. This can lead to fatigue and weight gain.
This yummy snack is super simple to make and is filled with nutritious goodness.
6 Nori Sheets
1/4 cup water, room temperature
1 Tbs sesame oil or olive oil (I used olive oil)
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or other spices of your choice
1 tsp Kosher salt
1 Tbs sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
Lay 3 of the Nori sheets on a flat surface, shiny side facing up. Brush with water, coating the entire sheet. Place a second sheet on top, again shiny side up. Once the sheets of Nori are paired together, cut into strips and cut each strip in half
Follow this procedure with the remaining 3 nori sheets
In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Brush each of the cut Nori chips with mixture, coating generously. Lay flat on wax paper with the seasoned side up.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until chips have darkened in color. Cool completely before serving, store in an airtight container at room temperature
NB* Keep an eye on them as I left mine in for 10 mins and they had started to burn already
